That's his real name! He's not the character
from Western history, but he plays that character. And the original Wyatt
Earp just happens to be his great-great uncle.
Wyatt spent more than 30 years as a New York Life Insurance agent, and then became an actor. For a while he pursued both careers, but he recently retired from the insurance industry.
Wyatt's wife, Terry, is a popular playwright in the Phoenix area who has won awards for her historic plays. On this particular weekend, Wyatt was starring in a one-man play written by Terry about his uncle. The play is "Wyatt Earp: A Life on the Frontier," and Wyatt and Terry have taken it throughout Arizona, California, and Colorado. The play has also been presented in England and Scotland.

The photographs on this page were taken
in May 2002. Since then, Wyatt and Terry have returned for two more weekends.
In October 2004, they presented the other two plays in Terry's "Tombstone
Trilogy:" "The
Gentleman Doc Holliday" and "Kate: Woman of Many Names." Terry
is an actor as well as a playwright, and she played "Big Nose Kate" in
the latter.
The team work together to present plays
that are truly authentic. Terry does extensive research to ensure that her
plays are historically accurate. She always puts a unique twist on the plays,
so the theme and content are very interesting. Both are outstanding actors,
and just moments into a play, one forgets the present and is transported
to the era of the play. In the photograph below, Wyatt is portraying
his uncle:
